How do I get started?

This is an easy one; your 45-minute consultation is complementary! You can ask any questions you might have and just get comfortable with Kate and her offerings. During this session we will discuss what you’re looking for, and come up with a game plan that feels best for achieving your goals.

What tools or modalities can I expect?

I use a variety of modalities and techniques during healing sessions. Some are: Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Martha Beck Wayfinder tools, muscle testing, guided meditation, sound healing, Shamanism, energy medicine, and breathwork. We’ll use what feels and works best for you!

What is Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT)?

AIT is a gentle yet powerful form of energy psychology that allows us to remove trauma or blocks from our systems (mind/body/spirit). We muscle test to locate the held traumas or blocks, then systematically remove them all. With these gone, our own healing entities can do their jobs effectively.

What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?

IFS is absolutely the best tool I’ve found for self-awareness. It’s an evidence-based modality of psychotherapy based on the belief that we are all born with multiple parts of ourselves that all work together. You know the voice in your head that worries about your decision, or that headache that comes up every time you work with that certain co-worker. Our parts are always with us and are all welcome – without judgment. There are no bad parts. I believe that getting to know all of our parts (Ego, archetypes, shadow, inner child, limiting beliefs, negative thoughts/patterns, addictive parts, etc.) is the most effective way to understand ourselves, allowing us to heal.

What is muscle testing?

Muscle testing has been used in the medical and holistic community for decades. It’s based on the fact that when you think disturbing thoughts and put stress on a muscle group, it’s weak. But when you think positive thoughts and feel positive, and then put stress on a muscle group, it tests strong. Similarly, our muscle groups become weak when we’re exposed to something toxic or when we lie; they become strong when we’re exposed to something that is healthy for us, e.g., love or telling the truth. Similarly, muscle groups weaken when we’re exposed to something toxic or something we’re allergic to, and are strong when we are exposed to something that is good for us. With your permission, I can energetically muscle test you using my own body as a proxy for you.

Are all healing sessions online?

Yup, right in the privacy of your own home! You’ll receive a personal link to a secure site for private video conferencing. Don’t worry, you’ll find that it’s really easy. Life is busy and can get crazy at times. Feel free to participate in our online sessions anywhere that works for you. I just ask that you’re in a comfortable space away from distractions and are able to fully show up for our time together – focused, hydrated, and ready to go.

How is coaching different from therapy?

Consider the difference between a medical doctor and a personal trainer. A generally healthy person goes to a personal trainer to learn techniques for improvement, while they go to the doctor when they are unwell. In therapy, the therapist is considered the expert. With life coaching, the coach is a facilitator or guide, maintaining that you (the client) are the expert. Acting as your guide, I will provide tools and direction – helping you to find the best way forward (for you individually) towards the life you desire. Please note that if a client is suffering greatly and is in need of therapy I will request that the client receive therapy in addition to our coaching sessions.

How fast can I expect results?

The tools and methods I use are the most direct and impactful I’ve found, but the rate at which you’ll experience results will vary. The more you are willing to fully step into the process during our time together and the more attention you place on the process between sessions, the better your results will be. I’m happy to go at the speed that’s right for you. We can determine this together. Remember, all you need to know is just one, next, right, step.

Are my sessions confidential?

I am committed to keeping all contacts, information and records confidential. From time to time, information may be shared with other coaches during my certification process and for feedback purposes; however, the client’s name and any other identifying information will never be disclosed.

What do sessions with Kate look like?

Well, what sucks?! That’s what we’ll focus on first for the most relief. No one likes to suffer, right? No two sessions will be alike, but generally they will all consist of a short catch-up from our last session and assessment of the best way to move forward: Should we continue from last session, or is there something more pressing that has come up? All sessions will have at least one use of guided meditation – usually in the beginning to help ground and center before we dive deep, using a variety of modalities, depending on your needs. When closing, I’ll provide tools/techniques for you to use during our time between sessions, and/or some sort of homework. All sessions will be followed up with an email summarizing our time together.
